Texas Gang Investigators Association
2012 Awards
The Texas Gang Investigators Association will once again be recognizing both a judge and a prosecutor who have excelled in the prosecution of gang members in Texas. Four officers from Texas will also be recognized who have excelled in their professions in dealing with gang investigations or gang intervention / prevention over the past year.
Nominees for the Ted Poe "Damn Good Judge" award and for the Prosecuting Attorney of the Year award do not need to be a member of the Texas Gang Investigators Association.
Categories for Officer of the Year awards include:
Two (2) Licensed Peace Officer of the Year
One (1) Probation / Parole Officer of the Year
One (1) Corrections / Jail Officer of the Year
Nominees for the four Officer of the Year awards must be current members in good standing with the Texas Gang Investigators Association.
Nominations for these awards must include the completed nomination form, plus any biographical information pertinent to the nominees job, family background, and a summary of his / her outstanding accomplishments / performance in the field of gang investigations, gang intervention or gang prevention. All nominations MUST be typewritten / computer printed. To nominate a deserving judge, prosecutor or officer, complete the nomination form and email it and all other supporting documents to the Awards Committee Chairman.
All nominations must be postmarked by Friday, May 18, 2012.
